What you may have missed between last night and this morning
1. Tennis – Australian Open: Tsitsipas quiet, Sinner pulls away
For the first time in his career, and it’s pretty crazy to note it, Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the round of 16 of a Grand Slam without losing a set. The Greek beat Tallon Griekspoor (6-2, 7-6, 6-3) while Jannik Sinner was frankly afraid against Marton Fucsovics who was leading two sets to nothing (4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0). Among the women, Barbora Krejcikova is the first to join the second week after her victory over Anhelina Kalinina (6-2, 6-3).

2. Football – Premier League: City overthrows Tottenham
It is not good to lead by two goals against Manchester City in the Premier League. According to Opta, Pep Guardiola’s players have consistently avoided the worst in this situation the last five times. Tottenham was therefore the fifth victim Thursday evening during a late match of the 7th day of the championship. Kulusevski and Emerson had opened the scoring at the very end of the first period. Alvarez, Haaland and Mahrez (x2) answered them in second (4-2). City are five points behind Arsenal (with one game more).
3. Basketball – NBA: Chicago takes a walk in Paris
The second regular season game in history played in Paris easily turned to Chicago’s advantage (108-126). In a duel at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, the Bulls easily beat the Detroit Pistons. In the night, in the United States, Boston overcame Golden State after overtime (121-118) thanks to 34 points and 19 rebounds from Jayson Tatum.
And also…
Football – King’s Cup : Real Madrid returned to success by beating, not without difficulty, Villarreal who led by two goals (2-3) in the round of 16. FC Barcelona played in Ceuta (0-5).
Soccer – Italian Cup : Federico Chiesa found his way back to the net, 378 days after his last goal, to send Juventus to the quarter-finals at the expense of Monza (2-1).
WRC – Monte Carlo Rally : Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) struck from the start on the first day by winning the two opening stages.
Cycling – Tour Down Under : Pello Bilbao won the 3rd stage, ahead of Simon Yates and Jay Vine. The latter, a defector from Alpecin-Deceuninck for UAE-Team Emirates this winter, takes the overall lead.

The question of the day: Can OM extend their series?
Winner six times in a row in Ligue 1, seven if we add the Coupe de France, Olympique de Marseille has the opportunity to extend its series in all competitions this Friday evening in the round of 16 against Stade Rennais (9:10 p.m.) . Deprived of Eric Bailly, suspended for 7 matches by the FFF, but with defenders who are a hit, Marseille are favorites but with a very short head.
